Is there a before and after care program available? SMS provides a Before-care from the hours of 7:00 am – 8:75 am. The After-care program runs from 3:00 – 5:30 pm. What is the Maximum Class size at SMS? It is the goal of SMS to have no more than 18 students in Grades 1-3 and no more than 30 students in grades 4-8. These numbers are subject to Principal discretion. Accelerated classes are available to middle school students through Catholic Central High School for a fee. We do not have a formal accelerated program for grades K-5. Instead we work with the individual student to meet their particular needs. We also work with those students who need extra help on an individual basis. Yes, we have a half-day preschool program for our three and four year olds as well as a full day program. The director of the Preschool Program is Joan Birkholz. She can be reached at 763-1501 ext. 252. Registration begins on January 29th, 2006 , during SMS Catholic Schools’ Week Open Houses. Enrollment remains open though out the school year. SMS requires a non- refundable payment of $50 (2006-2007 school year) per family at the time of registration.
