  St. Mary's School Committees
 
St. Mary's School (SMS) is supported by a collection of volunteer groups made up of dedicated parents, teachers, administrators and other friends of the School working together to achieve the common goals and objectives of SMS. The primary committees are described below:

St. Mary's School Advisory Committee (SMSAC)
The SMSAC acts in an advisory capacity to assist the Pastor, Parish Council, and School Administrator in the operation of SMS. Its primary functions include: creation and review of School policies and oversight of the goals and activities of the SMSAC sub-committees and other SMS volunteer groups.

Following are the sub-committees of the SMSAC:

  • Planning Committee
    The Planning Committee assists with the creation of the strategic vision for the School and the establishment of short-term and long-term objectives for the School.

  • Recruitment and Retention Committee
    The Recruitment and Retention Committee assist with recruitment of new students and retention of existing students, including, but not limited to, activities in the areas of marketing, communication, and public relations.

  • Development Committee
    The Development Committee assists with the acquisition of funds in support of the School through collaboration, fundraising and solicitation efforts.

  • Finance Committee
    The Finance Committee assists with the development of an annual budget for the School and ongoing monitoring of the financial results of the School.

Other volunteer groups that support the activities of the School:

  • Home & School Association
    The Home & School Association assists in providing volunteer support and educational & enrichment programs for the students, faculty, and families of the School. Home & School volunteer activities include: Market Day, Dad's Club, Hospitality/Bakers Club, Box Tops & Grocery Receipts, Secret Santa, and Classroom, Recess & Library Volunteers.

  • Athletics Committee
    The Athletics Committee assists in providing volunteer and financial support to the SMS athletic teams.

  • Music Parents
    The Music Parents group assists in providing volunteer and financial support to the SMS and Catholic Central High School music programs.
