Preparation for the reception of Reconciliation and First Eucharist take place at the second grade level for students at St. Mary School.
These programs have three phases:
- Parent meeting/retreat
- Classroom instruction
- Celebration of the sacrament
The purpose of the parent meeting is to renew the parents’ understanding and appreciation of the Eucharist and Reconciliation on an adult level and to help parents come to a more conscious awareness of their role as the primary religious educators of their children.
Students in grades 3-8 receive Reconciliation each year during Lent.
All grades attend mass one day a week. Each class during the year plans the liturgy with appropriate readings, responses, petitions and songs.
- Daily prayer
- Prayer reflections/retreats at each grade level
- Living Rosary
- Living Stations of the Cross
- May Crowning
- Seasonal prayer services
